You should replace your thermostat with a programmable unit. Then you can set the temperature lower at night and when you are away. That will save you 10-15% on your bill. It is an easy diy project. For more info, check out the thermostat page at my source.

A setting at which you are comfortable at —- perhaps around 68 F to 72 F .
Installing ceiling fans will really make a big difference too .

the lower the better ofcourse. and get a programable stat. run on lower temps when ur not home and in bed
