    B. Earth’s magnetosphere is spread out farther on the side of Earth not facing the sun.

b definitely b. the magnetic field extends many thousands of miles into space. when there are large solar storms the force of the solar wind can actually cause some of the bands of the magnetic field to break and reform on the far side of the earth. during these periods, satellites and even computers on earth are subject to disruption and even sometimes can be destroyed by the solar radiation now allowed in. the magnetic field is vital to the protection of highly sensitive electronic equipment.
